I have no volume while making or receiving a phone call. I can put phone on speaker phone and it works fine..HELP

I have no handset volume on incoming or outgoing calls.  The speaker phone works fine.  anyone know what the problem is??  Thanks

However I only browsed it and didn't see anything about while on calls. Has it always been this way since you bought it?
