I ordered a space gray 16GB iphone 5s back on October 7th around 10:30am, and shortly after I received a confirmation email stating that my order had been placed. Wednesday of that week I called Verizon and spoke to a customer rep, just wanting to check make sure the order had went through and there was no problems. The rep stated that the order was still in the process, and it would be shipped by 10/28. I do admit that I got really excited, and decided to call Friday. Spoke to another rep, and this one stated my order would most likely be processed on Monday(which passed yesterday). Checked yesterday and my order still hadn't been processed, so guess what I called Verizon again. Now I get a different story, now this rep tells me that the other rep shouldn't have told me that my order "would be most likely processed" and that actually the phone that I had ordered was back ordered. I shouldn't be pissed, but come on Verizon! I've been reading articles across the internet, and Apple and I believe ATT are getting phones out quicker to their customers. So what seems to be the hold up? Of course you're going to say high demand, but you guys weren't prepared and its just that simple.
You have to realize that the new iPhone is in great demand so it would be natural for delays. it is not a cop out answer but one all carriers are going through.
However Apple stores are getting shipments in every day. Personally I would check your local Apple store and you may have a pleasant surprise that they may have it in stock. You can then cancel your verizon order and pick up your new phone from the store.
I always like to get my device from the store. No waiting, no email updates, no disappointed customers and everyone is happy.
I don't believe verizon as a money making company wants to lose a sale, and would want you to buy that phone from them.
It just would not make good business sense now would it?
Good Luck
