Incoming calls to both phones

My wife and I frequently receive phone calls simultaneously from a caller who calls my wife's number. Not sure how to prevent this from happening?

TThis is probably FaceTime calls from another iPhone.  One or both of you should turn off FaceTime calls and then get separate Apple IDs.   Check into Apple's Family sharing.   Family sharing allows multiple family members to share a common library, but have separate apple IDs.
