Cannot connect to 3g on my iphone 4 what can be the problem?

I have the same problem except i have 3g in the top corner but when i try to use the 3g it wont work and i have 255mb out of 2gb of my data used and i tried all the resets and things like that and still nothing

I can't imagine being without my data services. Let's ensure you're able to use all available features on your device. We'll start with the basics. Is data on? Settings > Cellular > Cellular Data - On. What zip code are you located in? I'll take a look over the coverage area.

Same problem.  3G is becoming more and more sporadic.  Talked to account rep from Verizon after opening up a ticket.

He stated that Verizon is cutting back on 3G, focusing on 4G.  Sounds like we will need to switch soon if you want network coverage or reliability.  I have the Scott's phone number if anybody from Verizon wants to confirm what he said.
