Not if you did not set up "Find My iPhone" on your iPhone prior to losing it.

That's why they prompt you to do so when setting up your iPhone initially.

I don’t believe my son installed that. So there is no way of sending an emergency alert to make the phone ring without having the Find My iPhone app. Great, thanks.
