This past fall of 2015 I spent considerable time on Verizon chat with a tech regarding my problem. I was eventually told to content my internet provider. The only thing my provider found to fix the problem was to turn off my phone and my modem simultaneously for a couple of minutes. When turning back on the problem was fixed. That was until I tried to access free WIFI elsewhere. No problem, I just stayed on LTE. Now I'm in Florida for 3 months and the LTE is eating my data at warp speed. I can not go turn the modems off at the campgrounds I'm staying at. I would be shot. My husband has no problem using WIFI on his laptop. I need help. Is this a lemon IPhone 6plus or what?

I read this thread rather quickly and don't recall seeing these recommendations, which Apple will for sure suggest / request you complete:
I agree going to Apple is the next best step after you have tried the above.. if you haven't already. Let us know and goog luck!
WIFI is crucial when trying to conserve your data allowance, Harriettedm. Let's work on a solution to this issue together. When did this issue start happening? Had anything on the iPhone 6 plus change around the time this issue started?

Have you contacted Apple about the issue? Are you still under the 1 year manufacturers warranty. If so they will troubleshoot the problem and if needed replace the device. Depending on what part of Florida you are in there may be an Apple Store nearby or you can initiate service from their website.
When this first happened, I had connected to a Wifi at Panera Bread early October. When I left there, I had problems from that day forward. I tried many things to fix it on my own but to no avail. That is when I spent a long time chatting with a Verizon tech.
I am still under warranty but have not contacted Apple. I am in Honestead Fl so maybe there is an Apple Store in Miami at least.
I know of at least 2 Apple Stores in Miami. Hopefully they will be able to get everything working for you
I guess that may be my best chance of resolving. Thanks.
kaebfly presented a great option, Harriettedm. Within the first year, Apple does provide warranty support. We can also save you the trip. Since this started, have you attempted to reset network settings (Settings - General - Reset - Reset Network Settings)? This step doesn't delete anything except any remembered WIFI passwords, and can help get your WIFI working correctly again. Please keep us posted.

When I chatted back in October with a Verizon tech we did it then and I have tried it several times, both the network setting and resetting all settings.
Does Apple provide any warranty?
