Yesterday, a friend who is in my contacts tried calling me twice. He said that each call went straight to voicemail, and he did not leave a message. My phone never rang or indicated that a call was incoming or missed, and no missed calls from his number appear on my missed calls list. The call log on his Samsung shows the calls.
This is a a very serious issue. I have small children and cannot ever miss calls completely like this. I was in an area with good signal strength, had sufficient battery power, do not disturb was not on, and my iPhone 7+ is fully updated with iOS 10.3.2.
Has anyone else experienced this? Is this a Verizon issue or an Apple issue? Need to know ASAP so I can switch phones or carrier as needed. Thanks!

We understand the importance of receiving your calls ROBDIC81. We want to be sure this is resolved so that you do not have consider switching carriers. Did this issue only occur with the one specific contact or were others unable to reach you as well? Are you able to receive text messages from the contact you missed the call from?

Thanks! This contact is one I have texted with, and I have no way of knowing what other calls I have missed. This contact is the only one who has told me about it.
The first call was at 5:51pm PST yesterday.

Is "do not disturb" enabled in settings??
Otherwise could be related to call forwarding, which to cancel all: dial *73 and hit talk/send as if calling this number. It will beep 3 times and then hang up quickly....

Thanks! "Do not disturb" was not selected and neither was call forwarding. I did the *73 just in case.

Perfect! Keep us updated if this did the trick, as it is possible that there was some type of conditional call forwarding that was interfering and sometimes gets enabled without the intention of doing so...

This recently started happening with me as well. The phone doesn't ring or vibrate, volume is up, I notice a voicemail notification, go to voicemail, then to recents and the call has come from someone not in recents. Doesn't matter if it's a call from a known contact or not. In many cases it will be the first call in hours when the voicemail icon will pop up. No ring, no vibrate, no recent, not a blocked call, and yet a voicemail. I'm android on a Moto Z play. Thanks in advance

We are concerned to hear that you are having these issues with your device. This is definitely not the experience that we want for you to have, and we will be glad to look into the issue to get it corrected. To confirm, have you tried restarting your device to see if the issue continues? When was the last time that you updates the software on your phone? DavidR_VZW

My issue as well. Missed an interview call this morning...not good. Will happen at least 2-3x/day. The other day, 4 messages came through all at once on VM. No indication on call on those. At least the others I see a missed call. iPhone X, latest firmware, 13.1.3. Not 100% sure, but this issue may have started with most recent firmware update. Restart-yes.
