My screen is completely black but you can hear the passcode being typed in. I was just wondering if there was a way to recover my pictures on the phone.

You can if you connect your phone to a computer. Usually a program or a dialogue box will open on your computer asking if you want to sync photos from your phone.

courtneysotrill, what platform is the computer on, Windows or Mac and what operating system? If Windows I should be able to help you out here. But easier than trouble shooting why don't you use iTunes that's the software program developed by Apple to work with Apple Devices such as the iPhone. That would be the easiest way to recover the pictures from the iPhone. If iTunes is not installed on the computer it is free from the Apple website.

Forgot to mention. If you used iCloud, Verizon Cloud, etc. Then these pictures night be backed up to one of these Clouds.

On the iPhone go into Settings > General > Reset - and tap on Reset Location & Privacy. Open iTunes again plug the iPhone into the computer, the dialog box trust this computer should now work.

Hey Courtneysotrill. Pictures are memories, and I know how I would feel if I lost mine. Have you tried going to iCloud.com to view the pictures there? If you know your Apple ID and password, you should be able to see your backed up photos.
Let me know if that works for you.
