Good afternoon!
I see so many posts with the same or very similar issues; therefore, this response is directed to all of the community having this problem. If you have already tried the previous steps provided, I encourage you to update your device(s) with iTunes, if there are any updates available. If there aren't any updates available, then do a complete reset. (Erase all content and settings.) If you have done all of this, we will need to speak with you for additional assistance.

I am having trouble recieving text messages on my verizon iphone 4 could you please help me. I am getting some but not all and very frustrated.
Thank you,
Elizabeth
Thank you for your inquiry. Perhaps you could try doing a soft reset on your device by powering it off for a full minute and powering it back on refreshing the connections. Then, try sending a message to the person(s) you had the issues with receiving the text messages from and ask them to reply back to you seeing of the messages do come through. If you are successful, perhaps it was how the messages where sent to you from before that caused them not to be received. If the issue repeats, please note any error messages and let me know so I can further assist. I hope this helps.
I can't send picture messages! I tried all weekend and they fail at about 99%. I retried one at least 6 times and it would not go through.
Is anyone else having this problem?

It sounds like your pictures are too big. Try resizing them to a smaller image.
As for everyone else, try dialing *228, option 2
If they are consistently failing, it's most likely a phone setting preventing them from going through. Go to settings> messages> and turn MMS messaging on. MMS (picture messaging) must be enabled in order to send them.
MMS also requires data to be working. Ensure that your data is working by going under settings> general> network> cellular data & data roaming need to be turned on. Note if you turn data roaming on, we do not charge for roaming unless you leave the United States. We cover all 50 states.
It may be network related as well. To reprogram the phone, just dial *228 Send, and choose option 1.
Let us know what worked or if we can help further.
I have also been having this issue. I contacted tech support and was told there was nothing wrong with my phone after they had me send a text to myself. What I was told to do is to call back when I have one of the phones in question with me and they would run additional tests. This issue doesn't make any sense since it only effects a couple people and not all people texting me.
My iPhone is only sporadically receiving picture messages. I will get one or so for every four picture messages that someone sends me. Has anyone had this problem or does anyone know what to do? I've tried *228, and my MMS Messaging and Cellular Data and Data Roaming settings are all swiched ON. Help!
