For the second time since I got my iPhone SE last May, when I call anyone they can BARELY hear me! Like, can NOT understand a word I say. Makes my phone useless as a phone. I can not remember what the solution was last time. Last year phone tech support found the problem. This time, no go. No help there. I'm going nuts! Please help?

We don't want you to have to worry about repeating yourself so your callers can understand what you say, NASCARKATE. We want to ensure you receive a permanent fix. Have you noticed if this issue occurs in multiple locations? I would like to troubleshoot your microphone. There is a Voice Memos app on your phone. If you use this app and make a recording of yourself speaking, how does the playback sound?

Reset network settings and if this doesn't help setup an appt with Apple. They will test your device in-store. I had a similiar issue with my iPhone 6 and they swapped out the device.
Settings > General > Reset > Reset Network Settings
Note: saved Wi-Fi networks will be lost but this is a good step to take. Long shot but at least you can tell Apple you tried it.
