Porting a BYOD to Post-paid plan

Hello!  I have an unlocked iPhone 8 I bought from Apple on a GSM carrier.  Can I BYOD this to a Verizon post-paid plan?  Thanks in advance.

The iPhone 8 is a universal device. It will need to be unlocked in order to work on Verizon.

My original post says "unlocked iPhone 8..." so it doesn't "need to be unlocked", right????
