Pre-Authorization hold for $1.00 dollar.

This was pending on my American Express card on 9/14/12, a $ 1.00 hold from Cellco Partnership, Inc., which is a Verizon Wireless, provider.  It also offers wireless devices in various categories, including 3G smartphones, 3G multimedia phones, and simple feature phones. The company sells its products through...so look for this as a pending/hold. They were probably seeing if there was money to hold.

Yeah probably checking your card to see if it's valid. Thank you for your experience. I'm sure your get your dollar back sooner then later. They will charge you for real when it's shipped.

Yep, my experience with those $1.00 preauthorizations when making on-line purchases is to ensure the card is valid.  Once the order is charged to the credit card, the $1.00 preauthorization drops off the account or is credited.
