I am able to sent/receive messages from every carrier except AT&T. I am able to receive messages from AT&T customers. I can't send messages to them unless they're placed in group messages with customers from other carriers. Anyone else having/had an issue like this? I'm kinda confused, because I didn't have this problem until I switched from my Android.

imeesage is an apple app, it does not use the standard messege system, but uses the data
iMessage is a service within the messages app that uses data when it can. If you're texting a non-iPhone user or you have iMessage turned off you'll be texting normally.
I'd recommend giving a call to verizon.
