How do I correct texts that I receive as coming through as @ symbols

Let's decipher these encoded messages Lisa. I want all your messages to be clear as water. When did this issue start? Does it happen with every message or only from specific contacts? What is your phone model and software version? What messaging application are you using? In the mean time, power off/on and test.
