Thanks,

If that track is already on your PC, this procedure will do it (or have you tried this already?). You will have to import the trck into your iTunes music library first, if you haven't already done so...

This works fine for me.

This appears to work great if you already have a song or ringtone in itunes. However, I can't convert this MP3 ringtone to M4R..

Why can't you convert it? Is it a protected mp3? If not, you can import the mp3 to iTunes, convert it to AAC in iTunes and then change the AAC (m4a) to m4r. Another option (although it may seem like a waste of a disc to do so) is to burn the mp3 to CD (not as a mp3 disc but a regular audio disc) and then import that into iTunes. It will no longer be protected and then can be converted (this is the same thing people used to do for old iTunes purchases that were protected...this allowed them to import the purchased songs back to the computer and convert them to the format they wanted so it would play on other mp3 players or so they could create MP3 discs).

If you need broken down step by step instructions to fix ringtones, I already wrote this out. AND as I titled it, it is BASSAKWARDS!
