Spotty internet

I got a new modem, which intermittently goes out and I have no internet.  This was supposed to be faster, and it is, WHEN it works. The DSL light will blink for awhile and eventually it will light steady.  Sometimes this happens for a few days, and then other times it will be fine.  When this is blinking, my cell phone goes to LTE, and I end up using data on my plan.  This internet instability also knocks out my landline. Sometimes I can get my house phone to work again, but this time my phone will not work since last week.  I'm hoping someone can help since i have been bounced around to different departments on the phone.

dsl has always been problematic!
