Text Messaging Problems

Just wondering if anyone else is experiencing this problem.   Messages I'm receiving are delayed and at times when I finally receive them they come in twice.  I am also experiencing problems with sending text as well.  I am sending to Verizon and AT&T users who also have iPhones.

I am sooo frustrated with the my phone doing the same thing. I get messages from people up to five different times and sometimes they are days later. Also, they say that they too are getting the same messages repeatedly and sometimes many days later. I called verizon and was on the phone forever but the problem still occurs.

GigiNaz-

Good afternoon! Let's get to the bottom of this! Is this happening to other contacts that are not with Verizon or AT&T? Does this include iMessages or just standard SMS? I encourage you to reset the device by pressing and holding the sleep and home key down until the Apple logo appears. Keep me posted if this continues!

Thanks,

Hey AdamE_VZW,

I was wondering if you could possibly help me as well.  I am currently in the Netherlands Antilles with my Verizon iPhone 4S.  I had it unlocked before arriving and have been using a local Chippie SIM card.  However, I cannot send or receive iMessages at all, even when connected to Wifi.  I know the people I am trying to send them to are also connected to Wifi in the States.  Any ideas?  Is there a setting I need to adjust?  May I also add that there are others here using the same SIM card as me who are able to send and receive iMessages with no problem.  Thanks again!

Hi SCatastrophe18. I hope the trouble with your iMessaging hasn't kept you from having a great trip in the Netherlands Antilles. Since iMessages are sent and received over data connection, you would both need to have a steady connection to the internet. One thing to double check is that both of you are able to open and browse through Safari. Another thing to double check is the way you have the number saved in your phone. If you had your iPhone unlocked and you're using another carrier's SIM card, check the dialing pattern that would need to be used to send a message successfully. Or try sending the iMessage using the email address instead of the phone number.

I hope this helps! Enjoy your trip and let me know if you need additional assistance.

Thank you
