How do I block or disable text messaging completely ? I never text anybody and do not have it on my plan. I get text messages from people I don't know and get charged for them.

My uncle is the same way! He doesn't text at all, so I can understand what you are going through.
In order to cancel/block text messages, you can log in to My Verizon http://bit.ly/xB4iTc. Go to Plan>Change Features.
If it doesn't allow you to do it, feel free to call us at 800.922.0204 and we will take care of you.
