Traveling Problems

I recently went to San Francisco, I was not able to 'SEND' emails, but I was able to receive them.  I could not 'TEXT' msg out either......But when I returned to SC the messages in my 'outbox' were sent and I was able to send/receive messages.  Does anyone have any idea what the problem was?  It seems if I leave my area I am unable to send messages and emails, photos, etc.   I also could not post to FB, but I return to my home area I can do it.  Thank you for any help provided.  So frustrating !!!!

You must not have had a data connection besides the text. Text doesn't need data. Text uses a voice connection unless you were imessegeing. Have you done *228 in awhile? That will help find towers that weren't there before. Do you gave roaming on? That will help if your near towers that aren't Verizon.

I liked your reply.  Do you have or know where I can find all the *... code's that would come in handy like the one about finding new towers?  Very helpful!

Dialing *228, option 2 is the code for updating the PRL.
