Unable to hear people on calls or the sounds that come through the speaker.

I have the iPhone 6 and all of a sudden today I can't hear people when on a call unless I put the headphones in. I've tried restarting the phone, doing a hard reset, turning off the blue tooth and even playing music with the headphones plugged in and pulling them out while the music was playing.  Nothing works.  Anybody have any tricks they could share?
