Upgrade Transfer Nano Sim
DAC350
Newbie

I just pre-ordered an IP5 using another number on my account that was eligible for an upgrade.  I understand I will will need to activate that line on that number when I receive the IP5, but to then switch it to my line I will need a new nano sim since the one in it will become deactivated.  Am I understanding that correctly, and if so will the VZW stores have nano sims available so I can transfer the IP5 to my number?  Thank you.

When the iPhone 5 is officially in the store you are correct. They should because have them even if the first one comes built into the phone. Every time you swap numbers you need to do that.

Sounds so exciting DAC350! I'm sure you can't wait for that amazing new device! I know how convenient an alternate line upgrade can be, as I've done it on my account for my family!

Please be assured you can switch devices between lines using the same original nano SIM that comes with the iPhone 5. If the existing device on the eligible line is already 4G, you will be able to use that existing device and SIM when you reactivate it. If the previous device is 3G, you can simply reactivate it, as it will not use a SIM card.

I trust this information was helpful.

Sincerely,

I want to swap my iPhone 4S with the phone number 702-555-5555 with my iPhone 5 with the phone number 702-555-1111

Some representatives have informed me that I need a new nano sim for the iPhone 5. Other representatives have told me that I don't need a new nano sim.

Which is it? If I don't need a new nano sim, how do I swap the numbers associated with the devices? If I need a new nano sim, how do I get it? (none of the stores have a nano sim near me and refuse to give it to me).

If the IP5 is already active on that line. Then yes you will need a new sim card. The problem you will run into is finding them as they did not distribute a whole lot of extras to the stores.
