Upgrade from 4s to 5c and lost important voicemails

My girlfriend upgraded to 5c back in October and her voicemails transferred over, some that she believes were deleted, and 2 voicemails from her mother, who recently passed away, have gone missing.

How do we reset/find/do anything to get those back?

If they are not in there, I don't think you can get them back. You may want to try the Apple website, though, as the iPhone's Visual Voicemail is an Apple product, not Verizon.
