Verizon iPhone 4 in Germany

I have an old iPhone 4 from Verizon and would like to use it in Germany for 3 months. Is there a way to remove the SIM card from the iPhone4 so I can replace it with one that works in Germany? 

(I do not plan to use my existing iPhone5 on my Verizon Plan while traveling.)

Any thoughts? Tutorials?

sygnett, we hope that you have a safe trip to Germany. I apologize that we're unable to support that device on an international carriers network in Germany. You would need to contact them directly to verify what is needed to provision that phone to work on their network. However, we do offer Global Services to use your phone there.
