Now that I have Visual Voicemail on my new Iphone 4s, I noticed that I cannot respond to other Verizon customers at the end of listening to messages with a reply voicemail. With voicemail on previous non-Iphones I could hit 8 and reply with a message. It was a nice feature. Others cannot reply to me either - even when they get the prompt. Is this an Iphone, Visual Voicemail, or Verizon issue? Do you think this can be added to the system for Verizon to Verizon customers?
It's the limitation of the Visual Voicemail for iPhone system. The people I know with AT&T iPhones state that they can't reply to a voicemail directly from the vm system either. The Visual Voicemail that other VZW users can subscribe to for a montly fee is more feature-rich than the VVM provided for free with the iPhone. It would be great if features are added in the future but honestly, there is no way any of us can predict if it will happen or not. Only thing I can suggest is letting VZW and Apple know of the desires....and one day if we're lucky something will happen.
Thanks for the quick reply! I will be contacting both Apple anf Verizon. I think both will need a little nudging to develop the technology to bring the two systems together - with the expanded features. After all it is still a phone!
