Why do we have each others' contacts on our devices?

We recently upgraded an activated a new device. When we transferred contacts, his contacts were added to my contact list. And now my contacts are added to his contact list. How do we separate them again?

It sounds like you are sharing Apple ID's - use a separate Apple ID for each phone.
