Why don't I hear a beep when I call someone and they are on the phone?

I called my son and he was on the phone but it did not beep to let me know he is on the phone.  Is there a way to turn that off so that when people call you they don't know you are already on the phone?  If so, how do you do that?

Great question MommaBof4! This is actually something that can be completed. VZW does have the option to turn this feature on or off based upon the users request. If you would like to update this feature on your device please give us a call by dialing *611 send from your VZW device, thanks!
