Why won't my iphone 6 power up any further than the Apple icon screen?

My iphone 6 won't power up any further than the Apple icon screen.  I've tried the power/home button reset and there wasn't any changes.  Last week it froze and I got that fixed.  Today I started receiving days old text messages and my apps crashed after
