Will a locked-out phone still back-up on the cloud?

My phone hasn't been backed up in many weeks due to the fact that I ran out of storage. If I up the storage limit, will my phone automatically back up even if I can't get on my damaged phone?

I’m sorry to learn that your phone has not been backed up in many weeks due to low storage, TERMAC80. Your phone will backup to the Verizon Cloud based on the backup setting you have configured on it. You indicate that you cannot access your damaged phone, if your phone is damage and not connecting to the network it will not backup any information even if you increase your storage option. Does this information answer your question fully?
