Will i be charged for using data without a data package for a used iphone 4?

im buying an iphone 4 32gb verizon cdma off of amazon, and i wanted to activate it for my service plan, but i dont have a data package. will i get charged for using data without the package? i currently have the unlimited talk and text family plan. and i dont plan on getting a data plan

The community members had great responses (thanks!). As previously advised, in order for you to activate a Smartphone on your line a data plan is required. If you decide to activate the iPhone I recommend you review our current data plans. You can also use our data calculator to help you decide which plan is best for you.
