Will my iPhone6 work in Italy?

I'm going to Italy for a week in October. What do I have to do to use my iPhone 6+ for text messaging and facebook?

Assuming you're not going to get a local sim card for 1 week, and you're just looking to add international services:

Be careful with data use.  You can easily run up several thousands of dollars in international data charges.  Facebook is known to use lots of data.  I would look to use wifi as much as possible.  Also getting international plan is a must.
