Hi
I did a test on the block and tried it on my sons phone number but he was still able to text me. How long after you place a block on a number before it take effect.
Thank you

In the past for the numbers I have blocked, I would usually get an email saying that my feature (adding the number to the block lust) change has completed. How long it actually took, I'm not sure.
Also in your test, were you using two iPhones? If so, the devices might have been able to get around the block by using iMessage. This uses the data connection and isn't through the Verizon Wireless voice network system. You can try the test again after turning off iMessage in the phone settings.

Thank you for the reply. Yes, I was using 2 iphones, so the only way this would work is if I turn off iMessages? If I turn it off, does that mean that I will not be able to receive text from iPhones or how would that work?
Thank you again

By turning off iMessage, it forces the phone to use the Verizon Wireless network to send the text message between phones. Since it would be going through Verizon Wireless, the system on Verizon's side would see that there was a block in place and prevented it from being received by the party it is going to.
