If you want to show the date and time it was sent, along with who sent it then a screen shot emailed to your phone is the best bet. Forwarding the text won't show any of the details.

You can copy and paste the message in an email to yourself. Or you can screenshot the message and send that to yourself.

You can just forward the text message to an email address. You can also email to text by using phoneno@vtext.com if the recipient is on verizon, similarly @messaging.sprintpcs.com on sprint, etc. each company has the ability to do email to text, text to email.

I got a text msg on my phone and i want to send it to my personal yahoo email for a court case. need to get a printed copy of it to present in court. Can you paste a text from your cell phone. Just not that savvy to know.

kaebfly is right if you need proof of sender and such a screen shot is best, if you just need the content then find the message and long press the message it should then present a menu of options depending on your text messaging app (Message+ gives Lock message, Copy Message Text, Forward Message, Message Info, Delete messages, Report Spam), once you click Forward Message you just type in the email to forward to and click send.
