how do i change the phone number on my home phone device

I have this device for my step mother and she has been getting a lot of harassing calls so I would like to change the number that accompanies it.  Can I do this?  The store said they couldn't help me.

You can log in to your MyVerizon account and request a new number.

That is not the stellar customer service that you deserve, TKD50. I am sorry to hear your mother is getting harassing calls. Rcschooner is correct. You can log into your MyVerizon account and change your Mom’s number. Here is how: http://vz.to/2a6Fx9v
You can also put her on the FCC Do not Disturb list, though that does let political calls through.
