You can't create a direct group to the best of my knowledge (unless you download an app that does it) but you can put a common identifier in the "company" field for everyone you want in the same group....then when you type that id in the "to" box when creating a new message. All of the people associated with that id will show...you will have to repeat typing the first few letters of it to add each person to the message so it's not as convenient as having a group setting, but it helps keep you from having to search for every person you want to add....
If you log into iCloud.com from your computer (assuming that you are using the iCloud) then you can create groups in there. Not sure if it syncs to the iPhone the same way though...I'll try it later if someone else doesn't chime in about it.
Ok, I tried it real quick and it works. The three groups I created on the computer in iClouds.com synced automatically OTA to my iPhone.
