for the phone you can reset 3 different ways

1) plug in to itunes and re-synce(thats only if you use itunes to activate the phone)

2) have store flash device( Factory reset will occur all information will be restored back to factory settigs

3)Put in safe/Recovery mode by turning off phone plug in and hold power and home button(tons of youtube videos if you cant do it it takes a few tried the first time) then in itunes it will say there is a device found in recovery mode do reset may take 5-10 min then back up info and your all set to go
