iPhone 5 won't save settings anymore

The phone suddenly changed all the settings and won't allow me to keep them the way I want.  It just started doing this today.

Sounds like a software issue with your iPhone, its imperative that you update your software from Apple to prevent issues like this from coming up. Latest version is iOS 9.2, make sure you have enough free storage space for any updates.

Additionally you can also go through Soft Reset by holding down the power key and home button simultaneously until the Apple logo comes up, then let go of the buttons and the iPhone will restart on its own. This is comparable to a battery pull and can clear up any quirks at times as well. No personal data is lost....
