My IPhone 5S is randomly shutting off. It won't turn back on until I connect it to the charger. When I do it typically reads as the battery is low when it isn't. This is now happening every time I try to use it and it's not connected to the charger.

This is most likely a hardware issue. Contact Apple for repair

I know how lousy it is to have a phone that is not working properly. I am sure you have already tried the soft reset, when you plug your phone into the computer does the computer recognize the phone with iTunes? Have you backed up your phone to iTunes recently?
