iPhone X not receiving verification texts

I upgraded from iPhone 6+ to iPhone X , the issue I am having is when trying to send verification texts they do not go thru messaging.  I am able to send texts to and from other people just not receiving a text to verify my phone via apps like banking, insurance, etc.....

I seem to be receiving texts and pics via messenger just not app verification where it tries to send a code to my phone.  Hope that answers your question.

I am having the same problem with iPhone 12 Pro.  It worked fine before but as of yesterday does not work anymore for any of my verifications.
