iPhone contacts list is linked to my work email. Need to change email

When I signed up for my Verizon account they said they linked my contacts list to my work email (I get a work discount through that email).   When I leave employment that email address will exist no more.  They remove it from their system.

Does this mean my contacts list will disappear?  If so, how do I link it to a different email address?
