iPhoneX and Apple Watch

It is my understanding that the iPhonex is not compatible with shared devices and I will have to have e separate line + more $ monthly if I decide to buy the iPhone. Is this true? Can I return my watch as an upgrade considering the circumstances? I've only owned the watch for 2 months

You only have approx. 2 week to return a device. iPhone and Apple Watch must be on the same account for NumberShare to work. Not sure if this helps answer your question or not.
