international texting and calling without data roaming?

does anyone know how to make and receive phone calls and texts while traveling internationally, but not incur data charges for downloading emails, etc.?  I can't seem to only shut off data roaming but only voice and date together after the new upgrade..I seem to have been able to do this before the upgrade.  suggestions?

Hi kopadakis,

Great news! The iPhone 4S does have capabilities to have only Voice Roaming turned on. The steps for voice are on http://bit.ly/QdbLAz and data are on http://bit.ly/UMBU5U. You can definitely use these to give you access to only the services you need. I also recommend turning off Cellular Data http://bit.ly/Wmebuy to ensure no unwanted data occurs.
