iphone 4, ios 7.0x, phone is unusable as a phone

I upgrade both my wife and my phone, a 4 and 4s respectively. I haven't been bothered by many of the feature "enhancements" like others have reported.

However, the phone is essentially unusable as a phone. The phone drops virtually all calls. This happens at our home, 43074, at work 43023, driving down the road directly underneath cell towers. It doesn't matter. This never happened with ios6.

To make matters worse, apparently ios7 cannot be downgraded to io6.

Since, I purchased the device as a phone, I would like a solution. I would be happy with going back to ios 6. No carrier updates seem to be available. At this point I won't ever purchase another Apple device, but at this point I am still willing to stay with Verizon.
