Have it activated at a Verizon store only. Other retailers don't know how to activate without messing up your plan.
IF there is a problem activating it, ask the Verizon rep to activate the sim in a Verizon phone, then install in your iphone.

sorry, but one more thing.
is there any instruction on how to activate the phone online if I chosen that way? its going be my first time to do that instead of have somebody at Verizon do it for me when I has an iPhone 4(sold) but have an iPhone 5s now.

If you have a SIM card the right size, you could activate online. The Verizon version is sold unlocked and can be activated online.
If you travel the international version is good for any carrier in the world. You will need to have the SIM card pre-activated in another (Verizon) phone as it is not in Verizons system.
