iphone 6 will not download images in messaging

When i get text message of images from people my phone will not download the image automatically...it want me to download it but it won't let me download it.  this has keeps happening despite syncs and apple updates. Went to Verizon store they gave a new SIM card.  That fixed the problem for a few weeks but now it is doing the same thing.  Is this SIM card bad too?  I don't understand how I can go years with no issue with the card, then it goes bad, get a new, and 2 weeks later this one has died too.  Please help.  This is my personal phone and work phone.

Being able to download images from your messages is crucial Felice77. Did you make any new changes to your device or install any new apps when this first started? Are you using third party messaging app or the stock messaging app on your phone?
