i recently deleted a text thread and would like to recover that data (the texts/imessages go back several months and are as recent as just a couple days ago). HELP!?!?
Not unless you backed them up through icloud
I have the same problem, pics as well...someone deleted them. I just saw in my itunes that my phone backs up to icloud. How do I get them from there?
it was actually a thread of imessages and texts.
If you backed the Idevice then you can restore the back up either from the computer or Icloud. I always back up to my laptop so I can just fix little issues quickly. If you do restore the Idevice from a back up you will lose the current stuff on your device. I know there is a tool that helps you open blackberry back ups and extract information to view, I don't Know if apple has something similar or where the back ups are located on the computer. Hope this will help you....
ok help what if I havent backup phone in a couple months and the messages that were deleted was from a couple Days ago what do i do will the backing up and restoreing work? Oh and i backup by plugging in iTunes dont have icloud set up.
Hello everyone!
I hope that I can lend a hand in terms of getting your texts back. I wanted to clarify that iCloud can back up some text message data, but it is mainly for pictures, videos, music, calendar and contacts.. Take a look here for more information http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4859. I would strongly recommend some kind of back up of your information. Here is a great link for backing up your data http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4137.
Plugging it into iTunes and doing a Backup and saving it to your computer is the most concise and full way to save your information. It will take a snapshot of everything and save. This is a way that you can get the messages back, however, if you have never done this, there is not a way to retrieve deleted messages.
You can see the time, date and phone number for all messages sent on our network online at My Verizon. You can see this for the past 3 months of bills and the current cycle. Simply log on and go to the blue "Usage Deatils" link on the main page (under the "My Usage" Section) for the current cycle. Click on "Online Bill" and then the "Usage Details" tab for previous months usage. This will not have the content of the messages, however, it may give you some critical information.
I hope this information helps some more. Please let us know if anyone needs anything else!
Thanks!

if you've backed up your phone via iTunes, all of your messages will still be there as of that point. Hopefully you do it often and wont lose many of the new ones..
Besides what mentioned above, i like to share you a article about How to recover deleted text message from iPhone.
Good luck with your process!

If you have backed up your iPhone with iTunes before deleting messages, you can restore SMS from iTunes back to your iPhone.
