my iphone 4s will not connect to the computer

i have tried several times and updated every damn thing and still i cannot get my computer to read it. it will charge it but i cannot transfer anything, music, pictures etc. someone please help!!!1

You must use Apples iTunes in order to place ringtones or music of your own on the phone. You don't have an android phone which uses a sd card and can load via the usb cable.
