my phone is giving me a different number!

i bought my phone from an idividual and it is giving me a totally different number... its saying that its still active on that. I can not get a hold of the person i purchased it from ... is there anything verizon can do for me about this situation???? the phone works, just wont activate on my number. please help

raerae12, I'm sorry to hear that you're going through this situation. You will need to contact the person who sold you the phone. If the phone is active on another persons account, we can't remove it from that line. The person who has in active on their account may have lost it and reported it stolen.
