I have 2 iphone 5c on my plan. I set up different apple store accounts. when I go to text someone I text both phones on my account and when someone tries to text me it only goes to one phone on my account. how do I fix this so I can text without texting myself.

Let's get some more information just to make sure I understand what you're trying to do. Are you having issue with text messages or iMessages?
Can you send a text from each line? Are you not receiving text on both lines? Is this a brand new account with VZW or did you just recently upgrade your current lines to the iPhone 5c?
Please provide details regarding the issues you are experiencing so I may better assist you.
