Make sure you have iMessage turned off. Settings, Messages, iMessage (turn off)

Mobile data must be on for any texts to work

Let's get those text messages flowing! Please reprogram your phone and test: dial *228>Send>Option 1>Power Off/On at end of call. Also ensure that you have the latest iOS version installed on your phone. Keep us posted.
