my iphone will not accept my touch to open first screen
I love having the ability to use Touch ID, and I don't want you to miss out, lillyd. Have you been able to use Touch ID previously? Is your finger dry and clean? Do you have a screen protecter that overlaps the sensor? What iOS do you have installed?

lillyd are you referring to TouchID to unlock the device or the actual touch on the screen? TouchID doesn't work well with damp fingers such as when you first wash your hands and if they are not totally dry.
